Business Systems Analysts (BSA) are primarily required to understand and document the Business Requirements Specifications. The person needs to have proven experience in handling requirements gathering and analysis at a client location, preferably in the Business Intelligence/ Data Warehousing domain.

 

Strong analytical skills – Analyze the data to validate the same against the business requirements

Problem solving capabilities – Analyze the requirements and suggest multiple options to address the issues

Strong interviewing skills – Needs to be able to probe business users to come up with the complete set of requirements

Research – Do the necessary research related to the business processes, to be able to understand the business requirements

Methodical – Capability to document each and every discussion and convert the thoughts/ ideas into actual requirements. The person should be able to close loops logically to validate and firm up the requirements

Documentation – Document all the business requirements (functional specifications) in an appropriate format, which could be easily understood by the technical development teams

Coaching skills – Should be able to guide and advice the technical architect and the technical development teams on the business and requirements

 

Desired Skills and Knowledge: 

 

MBA/ B.E./ B.Tech/ M.Tech in any field

Minimum 7 years experience in IT industry with at least 4+ years experience of working as Business Systems Analyst 

Good knowledge of financial data reporting (Telco good but not must), accounting principles, P&L, GL, AP, AR, balance sheet, cash flow, among others

Good experience gathering requirements at client location and documenting functional specifications

Good understanding of functional testing process

Should have some understanding of database concepts and should possess SQL skills

Previous exposure to SAP systems is a plus
