Business Development Lead

Location: Philippines

About the Role

The Business Development Lead is mainly responsible for direct selling and business development activities of Thakral One’s portfolio/offerings to prospective and current accounts in the Philippines. The portfolios/offerings that will be handled by the Business Development Lead shall cover but is not limited to the following:

  1. Technology Consulting
  2. People & Talent
  3. Data & Analytics
  4. Solutioning

It is expected that the Senior Sales/Business Development Executive can articulate complex business solutions and services even without presence of presales or technical consultants.

The Business Development Lead will also be responsible for building, maintaining, and managing sound, productive, and profitable relationships with current and prospective principal and channel partners (e.g., local Philippine SI’s and technology principals) to achieve company goals.

The Business Development is also expected to lead a team of multifaceted and multidomain oriented Business Development Specialist team. Main expectation in leading the team is to provide guidance and mentoring to the company’s Business Development Specialists in aid of achieving financial sales and revenue targets set each fiscal year. Monitoring and evaluation of the performance of all Business Development Specialists in the team shall also form part of the responsibility for the role.

Responsibilities

Business Development Lead will report directly to the Country Head in Manila The primary responsibilities of the Business Development Lead are as follows:

  1. Identify and directly pursue business opportunities for Thakral One’s portfolio/offerings in the FSI Industry.
  2. Establish and nurture new client relationships with the objective of understanding their business requirements and providing tailored solutions/services to address their main business pain points.
  3. Drive sales and business development results through the utilization of local or remote presales teams in a fast-paced, matrix organization.
  4. Prospect within the territory/country or account to uncover business needs. Contribute to the identification of market potential by qualifying accounts, following qualification process of Thakral One.
  5. Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business growth targets.
  6. Generates new business through strategic value -based selling and managing relationships with key customers, channels and alliances.  Establish an audience with executive level contacts.
  7. Support initiation of sales process by connecting with clients, prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, RFI, RFP responses, etc. to prospective clients, showcasing the value of Thakral One’s portfolio/offerings.
  8. Closing sales by building rapport with potential and current accounts; explaining solutions and service capabilities; overcoming objections; knowing the competition, procurement process, signatories/influences to drive the opportunity win.
  9. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of contracts (oversight only). Track the satisfaction levels of customers and discover additional revenue opportunities.
  10. Stay updated on industry developments and competitor activities in the Philippines and share insights to presales and management team of the company to maintain a competitive edge.
  11. Provide regular reports and updates on sales activities, performance, and forecasts. Reports account status, closing plans and annual sales forecasts to Thakral One management on a monthly basis or as needed.
  12. Manage and mentor a team of Business Development Specialist by mentoring and guiding the team to achieve company sales and revenue targets.
  13. Fully support the company’s sales and revenue objective and to be the trusted advisor of customers.

Qualifications

The primary qualifications required for the Business Development Lead are as follows:

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or quantitative field.
  2. Familiarity with the FSI, Utilities and/or Telco industry contacts and industry processes and policies in the Philippines is a firm requirement for this role.
  3. Minimum of ten (10) years of sales/business development experience in the Philippines.  
  4. Ability to identify business opportunities and have meaningful and deep conversations about technology solutions, architecture, data analytics and IT Services.
  5. Proven track record in business development, selling, and negotiation. Track record of consistently holding or exceeding goals using a consultative/solution-selling approach is expected in this role.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  7. Strong understanding of the IT solutions & services industry and market trends is a must.
  8. Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  9. Ability to work independently to achieve sales and business development goals and targets. Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a drive to achieve targets.
  10. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  11. Demonstrated experience and expertise in the sales and business development.
  12. Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide a sales team towards reaching company set objectives and targets.
