Finance Manager
Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department and will be responsible for all aspects of the accounting and financial reporting requirements for the company. They will plan, organize, direct, control and coordinate the financial and accounting activities within the business units within the company. They are responsible for improving the performance, productivity, efficiency of the finance area through the provision of effective methods, processes and strategies. As part of this role, you will also coordinate shared services operations to ensure that they are efficiently and effectively provided with finance services.
Responsibilities
- Back-office accounting & operational finance support for various companies under a shared services model.
- Improvement of Internal Controls, accounting processes, policies & procedures
- Identifies and drives required changes (capacity, regulatory, efficiency, etc.)
- Knows who and when to escalate issues in order to ensure timely and appropriate resolution and takes responsibility for ensuring actions are performed.
Main Tasks
Finance & Operations:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.
- Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Owns the efficiency of finance services, facilitating inter office and inter team communication and coordination.
- Main point of contact for accounts & finance matters. Managing and supervising accounting staff while contributing to the daily operations of finance and accounts team.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of Management reports and other requested reports.
- Ensure that monthly statements for billing, collection reports, expenses reports, are prepared on a timely basis
- Ensures timeliness, completeness and accuracy in the process of invoice preparation, delivery to client and follow-ups. Keep track of invoices, accruals, payment milestone and receipts.
- Support review project records, including contracts and change orders with vendor/supplier/client.
- Closing full set of accounts with monthly MIS statements.
- Conducting financial audits and reviews. Ensuring Audit is smooth and properly managed.
- Ensuring Consolidation of Accounts is accurate.
- Monitoring and operating cash flow and budgeting.
- Be involved in the process of budget preparation, cash expense monitoring, forecasting etc
- Working with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Budget Vs Actual tracking, investigating variances, reconciliation etc.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors & tax authorities for required activities.
- Communicating financial information to senior management and stakeholders.
- Management of follow up, AR, AP matters with client/supplier counterparts.
- Assists in the development of strategic plans for finance activity in conjunction with business unit managers. Providing financial analysis and advice to support business decisions.
- Implements and manages operational plans
Internal Controls:
- Continuously lead process and systems improvements across various functions within the team
- Improves processes and policies in support of organizational goals
- Develop and maintain thorough financial procedures
- Ensure all finance records are kept accurately and securely and in line with legislative requirements
- Ensure financial policies are being adhered to as set out in the company financial guidelines.
Requirements

Required Skills/Experience:
- A degree level qualification in Business, Economics, Accounting or MBA or CPA
- 10+ years of professional experience in Finance
- Demonstrated leadership experience; the ability to work with, develop and coach a team.
- Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Solid knowledge of accounting and tax regulations
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative style
- Excels at operating in a fast pace, shared responsibilities type of environment
- Good time-management and multitasking abilities
