IT Business Analyst
Summary
The IT Business Analyst plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and IT solutions. This role involves understanding, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, translating them into functional specifications for IT development teams, and supporting the project throughout the entire lifecycle. The IT Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and document analysis to gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders across different departments. Translate these requirements into clear, concise, and testable user stories, use cases, and functional specifications.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including business requirements documents (BRD), functional specifications documents (FSD), process flow diagrams, user manuals, and training materials.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including business users, IT teams, vendors, and management, to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements. Manage stakeholder expectations and address any concerns.
- Collaborate with IT architects and developers to design solutions that meet the documented business requirements. Contribute to the evaluation and selection of appropriate technologies and platforms.
- Participate in the testing phase of the project by developing test cases, conducting user acceptance testing (UAT), and ensuring that the delivered solution meets the business requirements.
- Provide training and support to end-users on new systems and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in an IT environment.
- Proficiency in requirements elicitation techniques (e.g., interviews, workshops, document analysis).
- Experience in creating and maintaining project documentation (e.g., BRD, FSD, use cases).
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Knowledge of IT concepts and technologies.
- Proficiency in using business analysis tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Visio).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
