Junior Tester
Summary
The Tester will perform testing of software applications to identify and document defects and ensure they meet the specified requirements. The role involves executing test cases, reporting issues, and collaborating with the Test Manager & QA team to improve software quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute (manual) test cases based on provided test plans and specifications.
- Identify, document, and report defects and issues found during testing.
- Verify and validate that software meets functional and non-functional requirements.
- Perform regression testing to ensure that new changes do not negatively impact existing functionalities.
- Collaborate with developers, Test Manager, and QA team members to understand requirements and provide feedback on software functionality.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of test documentation, including test cases and test scripts.
- Participate in test planning and contribute to the development of test strategies.
- Report test progress and results to the Test Manager & QA team.
- Continuously learn and stay updated with industry best practices in manual and automated testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in software testing.
- Experience in testing of a Core Banking Solution is considered a plus.
- Familiarity with issue tracking using tools like JIRA is considered a plus.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and testing concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for ensuring high-quality software.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Effective communication skills to articulate issues and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
