Payroll Officer
Job Description
We are looking for a Payroll Officer who can take full ownership of the end-to-end payroll process — from computation to compliance — and ensure timely, accurate salary disbursements. The ideal candidate is also someone who is looking to grow within the HR function, with opportunities to take on responsibilities in compliance policy implementation, labor relations, and employee engagement.
- Location: BGC Taguig, but expected to move to Ortigas CBD before end of the year.
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid; 2x a week onsite
- Will be part of the HR Team, reporting to the HR Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer semi-monthly payroll processing for at least 100 employees, including final pay, adjustments, bonuses, and statutory deductions.
- Validate payroll inputs such as overtime, NSD, LWOP, and pro-rated pay for new hires or exiting employees.
- Ensure accurate computation and remittance of SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and withholding tax.
- Handle BIR filings (1601-C, Alphalist) and year-end tax annualization.
- Maintain complete and confidential payroll records.
- Prepare payroll reports including cost to company, headcount, and variance reports.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
- Identify process improvements and ensure compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Accounting.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in payroll processing and statutory compliance.
- Hands-on experience with both manual and automated payroll systems (e.g., Sprout, SAP, Oracle).
- Proficient in MS Excel ( or advanced Excel) and payroll-related reporting.
- Strong understanding of DOLE, BIR, and other regulatory requirements.
- Preferably with a background in HR operations: labor relations, PH labor laws and statutory requirements.
