QE Lead
Summary
The QE Lead acts as the Quality Advocate and QE Subject Matter Experts (ME) in the Value Stream supporting Platform or Journey. They co-ordinate QE activities between the squads such as end-to-end testing and regression testing for the release. They are technically-deep individual with a Quality focus and with deep knowledge of application and regression models.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide support, coaching and governance to the squads in adopting the centralized QE practices, tools and framework, especially automation
- Enable QE through cross team planning and support integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Lead continuous testing activities across the squads
- Tailor, communicate, support and ensure adoption of Automation, Test Environment and Test Data strategies across the squads
- Co-ordinate and ensure release regression/end-to-end testing and non-functional testing are complete prior to implementing to Production
- Manage the maintenance, reuse and execution of automated (and manual) regression suite
- Help identify risk-based test coverage for unit, integration, API, accessibility, functional and regression
- Help identify automation opportunities and execute automation scripts, as required
- Work with other Domains to resolve issues, provide input to product design and offer suggestions on the testability of the product
- Work with other QE Leads assigned to Journey and Platform hubs
- Partners with Technical Leads to focus on ‘shift left’ testing and defect prevention (instead of defect detection)
- Help remove any QE-related roadblocks and escalate to Chapter Lead, when necessary
- Obtain feedback from the squads and continuously improve testing practices
Domain Expertise
- 5+ years of progressive experience in QE/QA domain
- Advanced experience in QE best practices, tools and approach to testing back-end and/or front-end applications, as well as end-to-end system integration
- Deep knowledge of products & business processes in specific domain/business unit
- Advanced knowledge and experience with automation across the full application stack
- Solid experience in test automation framework and tools (e.g., Tosca, Ready API)
- Strong knowledge and experience in DevOps and Cloud
- Experienced in qTest (or similar), JIRA and Confluence

- Understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps, Shift-Left Testing, TDD and BDD
- Experience with in-sprint and cross-sprint testing
