The Opportunity.
We are looking for an experienced Senior UAT Tester to support a core banking implementation. This role requires someone who is confident working hands-on in the system, executing detailed test cases, investigating issues, and working closely with the business and technical teams to validate end-to-end banking processes.
The Role.
Responsibilities:
- Execute end-to-end UAT scenarios across core banking modules, including account creation, transactions, payments, loans, deposits, and customer servicing.
- Review requirements and process flows, and convert them into clear, detailed test cases.
- Prepare and manage test data required for each test cycle.
- Carry out functional, regression, negative, and integration testing.
- Log defects with complete and accurate information.
- Analyse failed tests to understand the root cause, whether it’s data, configuration, mapping, or functional behaviour.
- Work closely with the project team, vendor, and business SMEs to support defect triage and ensure timely resolution.
- Validate data passed through interfaces, APIs, and reports, including basic checks using SQL (if needed).
- Provide daily updates on progress, risks, and issues.
- Ensure all test evidence is recorded accurately and kept up to date for review and sign-off.
The Expertise.
Required Experience:
- At least 5 years of hands-on UAT experience within banking or financial services.
- Solid practical experience testing any core banking platform (Temenos, Sunline, Flexcube, Finacle, or similar).
- Strong understanding of common banking products and processes (deposits, loans, payments, customer onboarding, GL postings, etc.).
- Comfortable working directly in the system and handling test execution independently.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate issues deeply and explain them clearly.
- Experience using tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or HP ALM to manage test cases and defects.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience validating data migration results.
- Ability to run basic SQL queries for data checks.
- Familiarity with regulatory testing requirements.
- Testing certification (e.g., ISTQB) is an advantage but not required.
