Test Engineer
Summary
The Test Engineer is responsible to ensure solution quality through testing. One of their key responsibilities is to writes tests (manual and/or automated). The tester has full responsibility and authority to decide if a feature developed by the team is completed or not. He/she needs to quickly gain intimate knowledge of the product to ensure that their feedback to the team is aligned with the product vision.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure every feature developed by the team is tested
- Feed the team with detailed information on any defects found, and help the Scrum Master and Product Owner to prioritize defects
- Tester is a gate keeper and has final decision if a feature is completed
- Strives to automate and maintain tests
- Works with the IT and operations to run tests in production environments after deployment to ensure quality
- Knows the product vision and works closely with the designers and the Product Owner to translate their vision into tests
Domain Expertise
- Significant experience as a tester
- Experience with testing in fast-paced sprint cycles including manual acceptance testing at story level and exploratory/creative testing
- Skilled at finding hidden requirements, edge cases, and a “desire to break” attitude
- Experience implementing automated end-to-end tests and tools such as Cucumber, Selenium, UI Automation, etc.
- Ability to develop integration, performance, and load bearing tests

- Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions
- Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simply
- Utilizes team collaboration to create innovative solutions efficiently
Agile Experience
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies
- Experience as a developer on an agile team preferred
