Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Consultant 

Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Consultant to support a cloud migration and infrastructure modernization project. This role involves designing, deploying, and managing Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.

You can work onsite in Melbourne or remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to assess, design, and implement GCVE solutions.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Plan and execute VMware-to-GCVE migrations, including workload assessments and migration strategies.
  • Integrate GCVE with native GCP services like IAM, networking, and Cloud Operations Suite.
  • Provide guidance on hybrid cloud configurations, disaster recovery, backup, and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot GCVE environments, network connectivity, and optimize performance.
  • Ensure solutions meet security and compliance standards.
  • Prepare documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
  • Provide training to client teams on GCVE operations when needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in cloud consulting or cloud infrastructure roles using GCP.
  • Experience with Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of VMware technologies (vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, NSX-T, HCX).
  • Experience with cloud networking (VPCs, VPNs, interconnects, firewalls).
  • Scripting/automation skills (e.g., Terraform, Python) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Relevant GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect).
