Mainframe Developer
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer with 8–10 years of hands-on experience in designing and developing complex mainframe solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in core mainframe technologies and tools, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capability to guide junior developers and collaborate across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- 8–10 years of experience in mainframe development and design.
- Strong expertise in:
- Programming: COBOL, PL/I
- Database: DB2, IMS
- Execution: JCL
- Interfaces: CICS, Web Services on Mainframe
- File Management: VSAM
- Proficiency in mainframe tools including Endeavor, Expeditor, Changeman, Easytrieve, FileAid, ABEND AID, SAS, and REXX.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience in mentoring and guiding junior team members.
Required Qualifications
- With at least one year experience, preferably as Business Analyst or equivalent.
- Preferably with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience writing business requirements.
- Experience in testing software/system/platform.
- Familiarity with financial transactions, general ledger, and reconciliation processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and defect tracking systems.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
