As a Portfolio Specialist, you will support and execute portfolio strategies that drive acquisition, activation, engagement, and incremental spend across credit and debit card portfolios. You will apply expertise in lifecycle management, campaign design, and portfolio optimisation to deliver measurable impact while ensuring compliance with industry rules and guidelines.
What You’ll Do and How You’ll Succeed
Portfolio Strategy and Performance
- Develop and refine strategies to improve KPIs including acquisition, activation, usage, spend per active, retention, cross‑sell, attrition reduction, credit losses, and ROI.
- Diagnose performance drivers and recommend segment‑level interventions by lifecycle stage.
Customer Lifecycle Management
- Design customer journeys for onboarding, engagement, habituation, maturation, retention, and win‑back.
- Define treatments and test plans (A/B and multivariate) to accelerate first‑use, repeat use, and long‑term engagement.
- Identify friction points and opportunities across digital and partner/merchant channels.
Campaign Strategy, Design, and Execution
- Translate portfolio objectives into campaign strategies including offer constructs, eligibility, targeting rules, suppression logic, and measurement frameworks.
Insights, Analytics, and Forecasting
- Support analytics to size opportunities and forecast impact using propensity, uplift, CLV, attrition, and spend elasticities.
- Drive a disciplined test‑and‑learn roadmap.
- Prepare clear documentation and executive‑ready presentations for senior stakeholders.
Thought Leadership and Team Contribution
- Monitor market trends such as rewards, interchange, merchant offers, embedded finance, tokenisation, BNPL, and digital wallets.
- Recommend portfolio interventions aligned with emerging opportunities.

Experience
- You have 6–8 years of experience in cards, payments, banking, or consulting with hands‑on ownership of portfolio optimisation, lifecycle programmes, and campaign management.
- You have experience with offer optimisation, rewards strategy, merchant‑funded offers, and partnerships.
- You are familiar with credit risk fundamentals and their interaction with spend growth strategies.
Technical Expertise
- You have deep understanding of credit/debit card economics including interchange, rewards liability, acquisition cost, NPV/CLV, and spend drivers.
- You are knowledgeable about card network operating rules, compliance, data privacy, and fair marketing practices.

- You communicate effectively, crafting executive‑ready presentations and translating analytics into clear business decisions.
- You manage stakeholders across product, marketing, compliance, and risk, driving cross‑functional outcomes.
