Business Analyst – Insurance Transformation

Location: Hong Kong

As a Business Analyst – Insurance Transformation, you will drive transformation initiatives across Life & Health Insurance operations within a large‑scale banking environment. You will work at the intersection of business and technology, translating requirements into actionable solutions while ensuring alignment with operational, regulatory, and customer experience objectives.

What You’ll Do and How You’ll Succeed

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements across underwriting, claims, policy servicing, and risk controls.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and process documentation.
  • Ensure requirements are clearly defined, traceable, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions with stakeholders to validate requirements and priorities.

Process Analysis & Transformation Support

  • Analyse current‑state processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support the design of target‑state processes aligned with transformation goals.
  • Assist in process re‑engineering initiatives to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Ensure business processes align with regulatory and risk control requirements in a banking environment.

Solution Design & Delivery Support

  • Collaborate with technology teams to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into system functionalities.
  • Participate in system design discussions to align solutions with business workflows and operational needs.
  • Support implementation activities, including functional validation and alignment with business expectations.
  • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of transformation initiatives.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Engage with business stakeholders across operations, risk, and product teams.
  • Communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Prepare structured reports, presentations, and insights for executive‑level updates.
  • Act as a bridge between business and technology teams to ensure alignment and clarity.

Testing & Change Support

  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by validating solutions against business requirements.
  • Identify defects, gaps, and improvement areas during testing cycles.
  • Support change management activities, including documentation and user readiness.
  • Ensure solutions are fit‑for‑purpose and aligned with transformation objectives.

Experience

  • You have 4–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in insurance, banking, or financial services.
  • You have strong experience in Life & Health Insurance domains, including underwriting, claims, policy servicing, and risk controls.
  • You have supported business transformation or process improvement initiatives.
  • You have exposure to large enterprise or banking environments.

Technical Expertise

  • You are skilled in business requirements gathering and documentation.
  • You are experienced in process mapping and analysis.
  • You are proficient in stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation.
  • You have strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
  • You can bridge business and technology teams effectively.
  • You have prior experience in Hong Kong insurance consulting engagements.
  • You have exposure to regulatory and compliance considerations in banking or insurance.
  • You have experience working in large‑scale transformation programmes.
