As a Data Platforms Scrum Master, you will lead Agile delivery within data engineering and analytics environments, enabling teams to consistently deliver value while upholding Scrum principles. You will act as a facilitator, coach, and enabler, ensuring alignment between technical teams, product stakeholders, and business objectives.
What You’ll Do and How You’ll Succeed
- Drive disciplined execution of Scrum practices by facilitating Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring consistency and adherence to Agile principles
- Champion a Lean Agile mindset, guiding the team to adopt and sustain core values, practices, and continuous improvement behaviours
- Identify and remove delivery impediments proactively, enabling the team to maintain momentum and focus on value delivery
- Coach teams towards self-organisation and accountability, strengthening their ability to deliver high-quality outcomes independently
- Enable clear and structured communication across the Scrum Team, Product Owner, and stakeholders to support informed decision-making
- Maintain transparency across progress, risks, and dependencies by ensuring visibility through tools such as product backlogs and burn-down charts
- Support Product Planning & Delivery by partnering with Product Owners on roadmaps, backlog management, resource planning, and risk mitigation
- Collaborate with Data Capabilities Leads and Business Owners to identify viable use cases and articulate potential ROI through business cases
- Monitor team performance against iteration plans, using Agile metrics to improve planning accuracy and delivery outcomes

Experience
- You have at least 10 years of IT experience, including programming and DBMS
- You bring 7+ years of experience as a Scrum Master within data engineering or data analytics domains
- You have 7+ years of experience applying Agile and Scrum methodologies and improving sprint planning using Agile metrics
- You have 7+ years of experience working within Agile frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban
- You have 7+ years of experience collaborating with product management and delivery teams on planning and problem solving
- You have 5+ years of experience in the technology industry, most recently within Banking and Financial Services
- You have 5+ years of experience in data management and data analytics
- You have experience managing stakeholder expectations across multiple organisational levels
Technical Expertise
- You have 4+ years of coding experience in Python, API design, Scala, and database administration
- You are experienced with SQL data stores, including cloud-native databases such as RDS or cloud-agnostic data warehouses
- You have working knowledge of Spark programming
- You are proficient with project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Clarity, and cloud platforms including AWS
- You are familiar with data analytics tools such as SQL, Tableau, and Power BI
- You have a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and project management frameworks such as PMI
- You are familiar with Agile engineering practices such as User Stories, Continuous Integration, Pairing, and Automated Testing

- Experience working within Agile Release Trains in a servant leadership capacity
- Experience with AWS cloud and modern data platforms such as Snowflake
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards
- Exposure to emerging technologies
