GCP Consultant
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Consultant with experience in VMware technologies and/or Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) to support a cloud migration and infrastructure modernization project. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing GCVE environments and a solid background in VMware technologies and cloud networking.
Key Responsibilities
- As part of a team assess, design, and implement of Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) solutions.
- Collaborate with cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and security engineers to deliver high-quality GCP solutions.
- Plan and execute VMware-to-GCVE migrations, including workload assessments, sizing, and migration strategy.
- Integrate GCVE with native GCP services such as the cloud operations suite, IAM, and networking components.
- Provide best practices and guidance on hybrid cloud configurations, disaster recovery, backup, and operational monitoring.
- Troubleshoot issues related to GCVE environments, network connectivity, and performance optimization.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and organizational standards.
- Prepare documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks for the deployed environments.
- Train client teams on GCVE management and operations as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in cloud consulting or cloud infrastructure roles involving GCP.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud VMware Engine is a plus
- Knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, NSX-T, HCX and related tools.
- Experience with cloud networking (VPCs, VPNs, interconnects, firewalls)
- Strong scripting or automation skills (Terraform, Python) is a plus.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
- GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect or equivalent)
