IT Business Analyst – Payment Systems (Banking)
Key Responsibilities
- Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with business units to gather and analyze requirements and document them clearly.
- System Integration: Work with cross-functional teams to define system integration needs, identifying dependencies and impacts.
- Documentation: Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
- Risk Management: Manage risks and issues related to scope and requirements, ensuring timely resolution.
- Testing Support: Partner with offshore test teams to develop test scenarios and validate results before production rollout.
- Issue Classification: Clarify and address test findings, categorizing them as defects or change requests.
- Problem Investigation: Investigate reported issues, identify root causes, implement fixes or workarounds, and coordinate with vendors when required.
- Defect Management: Manage defects and change requests, prioritizing and planning resolutions with business units.
- Production Support: Provide Level 3 production support, resolving incidents, handling user queries, and processing change requests.
- Knowledge Maintenance: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of application features and processes to serve as a subject matter expert.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 7+ years in payment system implementations with expertise in business analysis methodologies. Banking experience is a must.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of Asia-Pacific payment systems (e.g., RTGS, NEFT, ACH, CITAD, G3 Fast, Payroll, etc.). banking experience is a must
- Standards & Tools: Excellent knowledge of ISO20022 payment standards and SWIFT messages.
- Preferred Experience: Familiarity with TCS Bancs Payments product. Java/J2EE, Oracle DB, SQL, Unix/Linux, IBM WAS is a plus.
- Project Management: Knowledge of project management fundamentals and change management processes.
- Methodologies: Solid understanding of the SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Skills: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Work Ethic: Self-motivated, independent, and a collaborative team player with excellent time-management and organizational skills.
