As an L3 Database Administrator, you will serve as the highest escalation point for complex database issues, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of mission‑critical data systems. You will administer distributed and relational databases, lead architecture improvements, and collaborate closely with infrastructure, application, and development teams to maintain a robust and scalable data environment.
What You’ll Do and How You’ll Succeed
- Provide Level 3 support and act as the final escalation point for complex database incidents.
- Administer and optimise distributed and relational database platforms such as Aerospike, Snowflake, Aurora PostgreSQL RDS, and Aurora MySQL RDS.
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable database architectures.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and database performance tuning.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations across environments.
- Implement and manage high‑availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
- Optimise indexing strategies, query performance, and database execution plans.
- Support database integration and deployment for new applications and services.
- Monitor database performance, system availability, and resource utilisation.
- Ensure database backup, recovery, security, and high‑availability strategies are fully implemented.
- Lead database upgrades, patches, and system improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and monitoring tools to improve database operations.
- Ensure compliance with database security standards, policies, and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to L1 and L2 DBAs.

Experience
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in information technologies, computer science, or a related field.
- You have 3–5 years of relevant experience in database administration.
- You have strong experience managing databases such as Aerospike, Snowflake, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL RDS, and Amazon Aurora MySQL RDS.
- Experience supporting telecommunication environments is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Google Cloud database platforms is a plus.
Technical Expertise
- You can design and deploy databases in AWS environments.
- You have experience with database automation tools and DevOps practices.
- You understand distributed database architectures and high‑availability systems.
- You are skilled in backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
- You can diagnose and resolve complex platform‑level and database‑level issues.
- You can perform root cause analysis and implement long‑term corrective actions.
