Project Manager – Core Banking

Location: Bangalore, India

As a Project Manager – Core Banking, you will lead and manage banking technology projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives. You will oversee project planning, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and financial discipline, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to address both functional and technical challenges.

What You’ll Do and How You’ll Succeed

Project Leadership & Planning

  • Lead and manage banking technology projects to ensure successful delivery.
  • Oversee project planning, including work breakdown structure (WBS), resource allocation, and cost management.
  • Ensure expense management, including run‑rate tracking, costing, and resourcing, to maintain financial discipline.

Stakeholder & Risk Management

  • Manage stakeholders effectively, addressing risks and issues proactively.
  • Propose alternative solutions to ensure project success.
  • Centralize project information to facilitate data‑driven decision‑making and drive consensus among stakeholders.

Tools & Reporting

  • Utilize tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Excel (for data mining), and PowerPoint to track progress, analyse data, and present insights.
  • Deliver clear and compelling presentations to stakeholders and leadership.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with teams to address functional areas (e.g., payments, loans) or technical challenges (e.g., architecture design, Java coding).
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical execution.

Experience

  • You have at least 10 years of experience in project lead or project manager roles within a banking technology environment.

Technical Expertise

  • You have advanced stakeholder management, problem‑solving, and risk mitigation skills.
  • You are hands‑on with WBS, Excel data mining, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • You have strong presentation skills and can deliver clear, compelling insights using PowerPoint.
  • You hold certifications such as PMP or PSM (preferred).
