Software Engineer – Advanced (QA, Playwright)

Location: India

As a Software Engineer – Advanced, you will design, implement, and execute testing strategies that ensure the quality, stability, and reliability of enterprise technology applications within BFS&I projects. You will lead automation initiatives, collaborate across teams, and contribute to continuous improvement of systems hosted on cloud platforms.

What You’ll Do and How You’ll Succeed

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure software quality.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to prioritise testing requirements and achieve thorough coverage.
  • Perform manual, automated, and regression testing, track issues, and verify bug fixes to maintain stability.
  • Design and implement test automation frameworks to streamline testing processes.
  • Analyse and report test results, track defects, and improve testing methodologies.
  • Contribute to design, development, and technical troubleshooting, applying innovative approaches to problem‑solving.
  • Gather, analyse, and synthesise data to create visualisations and reporting that support continuous improvement.
  • Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Participate in communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and maintain test automation for AWS‑hosted applications.
  • Apply MongoDB expertise for data validation and test automation.
  • Leverage Playwright for automation of web applications.

We’d Love to Hear From You If…

Experience

  • You have 12+ years of experience in software engineering and testing.
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree.
  • You have experience in BFSI domain projects.

Technical Expertise

  • You are proficient in test planning, case design, and execution.
  • You are skilled in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, and Groovy.
  • You have expertise in automation frameworks and libraries including Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, and Rest Assured.
  • You are experienced in API test automation and debugging automation projects.
  • You are proficient with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
  • You have knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and experience with MongoDB for validation and automation.
  • You are familiar with cloud technologies and microservices testing (advantage).
  • You have exposure to Postman, Blazemeter, or JMeter (advantage).
  • You understand Behaviour Driven Development, Data Driven, or Hybrid frameworks (advantage).
